LAFARGEVILLE, NY – The mild winter is allowing crews to move forward with some big improvements that Can-Am owner Tyler Bartlett has planned for the 2020 season. The main grandstand area will see new bleacher boards installed before opening day on April 11th, replacing the decaying boards that have been in place since the early 1990’s. Bartlett looks at this investment as not only making it more comfortable for the fans. but also much safer for the facility. Another major improvement planned, is the replacement of the track lighting. The speedway lost (5) poles and the lighting during one of the wind storms recently, so crews will take the opportunity and replace all the track lighting. New 50′ poles have been ordered along with (50) new light fixtures, which should make the entire racing program not only better and safer for the drivers, but also for the fans. Kart racers won’t be left out of the improvements, the temporary LED lights that were installed on the 1/2 mile oval at the end of 2018, will now be moved over to the kart track giving kart racers a much better view of the racing surface and a more exciting experience for the fans. Don’t forget the 2019 awards banquets are coming up on March 6th and 7th and the 1000 Islands Harbor Hotel in Clayton, NY. You can reserve your tickets by contacting the office at 315-876-3478, email at email@example.com or message the speedway on Facebook.
