Start Imagining, a custom Excel spreadsheet solutions company for small businesses, is set to expand into the racing industry in 2019.
The business is operated and run by founder, Anthony Hussak. As a longtime race fan, Hussak has found the opportunity to bring his business into the racing community.
“My family and I love going to the races every weekend,” added Hussak. “We’ve always been involved anyway we can.”
Hussak has been a longtime friend and sponsor of Big Block Modified driver, Justin Haers.
“From a sponsor standpoint, you get a better appreciation for what goes on behind the scenes,” he said. “That’s where we saw an opportunity to partner with teams and see how we can assist with their data organization.”
With a background in engineering, Hussak excels in spreadsheet and database work, further advancing his worth in the industry.
“From a racing standpoint, there’s a lot of data that’s taken throughout the week and on race day,” he said. “Why not put this data to work? If teams are writing their notes down on paper, we can input this information into a database and organize it for them. It is exciting to think that information you are already collecting about your race car can uncover hidden trends and potentially allow for better decision making going forward.”
Hussak and his staff have reached out to several teams to get their feel on how Start Imagining can help them.
“We’ve corresponded with 410 and 360 Sprint Car drivers, Big Block and 358 Modified drivers, and asphalt drivers just to really understand what’s important to a team,” noted Hussak. “Including things such as how the weather impacts setups, gauging fuel mixtures, and performance of their car. Everyone we’ve heard back from has offered good insight and positive feedback on what we are trying to do. We’re still in the discovery phase, learning as we go along to find out what’s important to a driver/team and further our knowledge so we deliver the best possible solution.”
Start Imagining realizes that teams are very busy and wants their services to be user friendly and is flexible to work with teams on their weekly packages, special events, or select shows.
“They just need to take a photo of the notes and send it to us. We then take the photo and input the data into the database and from there we can generate a report that basically replicates the information but in a typed, easy to read format that’s emailed back to the team. Everything can be customized for a teams’ specific needs. If they want every event to be tracked or if they want select events or specific tracks instead, we can do that. Some teams may want more specific information reported on and a custom spreadsheet made for their internal use with visuals such as graphs and charts. We can do that as well.”
Hussak and Start Imagining understand all data is sensitive and will put non-disclosure agreements in place for all teams.
Even though the racing season hasn’t started in the Northeast yet, Start Imagining can work with teams on their 2018 notes to help them prepare for the 2019 season.
