The Lazzaro Name Returns to Fonda Speedway

FONDA, NY – For 30 years, spanning from 1961 through 1999, there has been a Lazzaro name in victory lane at the Fonda Speedway. Lou Lazzaro was a force to be reckoned with each week, and his 113 career wins at the Montgomery County facility attest to that statement.

In 2019, that same Lazzaro name will once again be stepping into the winner’s circle conducting business as usual as Lou had done for so many years. Lou’s daughter, Mimi Lazzaro is on board this upcoming racing season as our victory lane and trackside announcer.

Mimi is no stranger to the racing world, she was by her dad’s side each week at the ‘Track of Champions’. She also served as victory lane announcer for many seasons, and some will remember her beautiful renditions of the National Anthems for Canada and the United States of America.

We are excited to have her on board for the 2019 racing at THE Fonda Speedway. Please help us in welcoming Fonda Speedway’s 1st daughter, Mimi Lazzaro, back home!

Since 1953, the ‘Track of Champions’ Fonda Speedway has hosted the best in stock car racing. Now under the management of BD Motorsports Media LLC, the speedway will operate weekly on Saturday nights from April through August plus several special events. Fonda Speedway is located on the Montgomery County Fairgrounds off New York State Thruway Exit No. 28 at 21 S. Bridge Street Fonda, NY 12068.
