Utica-Rome Postpones DIRTcar 358 Series Event to July; Opening Day Now Wednesday, May 15

VERNON, NY – The weather woes continue for Utica-Rome Speedway as Sunday’s DIRTcar 358-Modfied Series event has been postponed to July 21st.  For the fourth time this season the speedway is forced to pull the plug on Sunday’s St. Lawrence Radiology Associates PC and VP Racing Fuels program due to rains and saturated grounds.

As a result of the numerous rain-outs, the speedway now has rescheduled the 2019 season opener to this Wednesday, May 15.  Wednesday night’s racing program features the DirtTrackDigest.com DIRTcar 358-Modifieds, Broedel Fuel Group DIRTcar Sportsman, Ted’s Body Shop DIRTcar Pro Stocks and the Bernie’s Extreme Performance Parts Rookie Sportsman.

Due to all the rain this season, this event will serve as the opening point event for the 2019 season. The DIRTcar 358-Modified Series event that was planned for this Sunday has also been rescheduled for July.  DIRTcar and speedway officials were able to find an open date allowing the series to return to the track on Sunday, July 21st to run the 100-lap, $4,000 to win race.

Pit gates open at 4:30 pm while spectator gates swing open at 5:30 pm with the heat races beginning promptly at 7 pm for opening night on Wednesday. Adult general admission for the opener is set for just $10 while kids 16 and under are free. Pit admission for the night is $27 for DIRTcar members and $30 for non-members.

If you can’t make it to the track you can catch all the action on DirtTrackDigest.tv. Nearly every event throughout the 2019 racing season will be broadcast.
